  • King of Kings
Composed by Brooke Ligertwood, Jason Ingram, Scott Ligertwood

In the darkness we were waiting
    Without hope, without light
'Til from heaven You came running
There was mercy in Your eyes
To fulfill the law and prophets
To a virgin came the Word
From a throne of endless glory
To a cradle in the dirt

Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
    God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings

    To reveal the kingdom coming
    And to reconcile the lost
    To redeem the whole creation
You did not despise the cross
    For even in Your suffering
You saw to the other side
    Knowing this was our salvation
Jesus, for our sake, You died

Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
    God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings

And the morning that You rose
All of heaven held it's breath
'Til that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who'd come
    To the Father are restored

And the Church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel, shall not fade
By His blood, in His name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
    Who has resurrected me

Praise the Father, praise the Son
Praise the Spirit, three in one
    God of glory, Majesty
Praise forever to the King of Kings
Praise forever to the King of Kings

How Deep the Father's Love for Us
    Songwriters: Stuart Townend

How deep the Father's love for us,
    How vast beyond all measure!
That He should give His only Son,
To make a wretch His treasure.

How great the pain of searing loss!
    The Father turns His face away;
As wounds which marred the Chosen One
    Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon a cross:
    My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
    Call out among the scoffers.

It was my sin that held Him there
    Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life:
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything:
    No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ:
    His death and resurrection.

Why should I gain from His reward?
    I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.

Why should I gain from his reward?
    I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.

But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.

    Mighty To Save
    Ben Fielding, Ruben Morgan

    Everyone needs compassion
    Love that’s never failing
    Let mercy fall on me
    Everyone needs forgiveness
    The kindness of a saviour
    The hope of nations

Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
    He is mighty to save
    Forever
    Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
    Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as You find me
    All my fears and failures
    Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
    Everything I believe in
    Now I surrender

Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
    He is mighty to save
    Forever
    Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
    Jesus conquered the grave

Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
    He is mighty to save
    Forever
    Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
    Jesus conquered the grave

    Shine your light
And let the whole world see
    We’re singing for the glory
    Of the risen King
    Jesus

Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
    He is mighty to save
    Forever
    Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
    Jesus conquered the grave

    Death Was Arrested Chords
By Adam Kersh, Brandon Coker, Heath Balltzglier, and Paul Taylor

Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope, no place to begin
Your love made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and my life began

Ash was redeemed, only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet, my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and my life began

Oh Your grace so free, washes over  me
You have made me new, now life begins with You
It's Your endless love, pouring down on us
You have made us new, now life begins with You

Released from my chains, I'm a prisoner no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend
When death was arrested and my life began

Oh Your grace so free, washes over me
You have made me new, now life begins with You
It's Your endless love, pouring down on us
You have made us new, now life begins with You

Our Savior displayed on a criminal's cross
Darkness rejoiced, as though heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That's when death was arrested and my life began
That's when death was arrested and my life began

Oh Your grace so free, washes over  me
You have made me new, now life begins with You
It's Your endless love, pouring down on us
You have made us new, now life begins with You

Oh we're free, free, forever we're free
Come join the song of all the redeemed
Yes we're free, free, forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
When death was arrested and my life began
Yes when death was arrested and my life began

    Living Hope Chords
By Phil Wickham - Brian Johnson and Phil Wickham

How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain  I could not climb
In desperation, I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness, Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished, the end is written
    Jesus Christ, my living hope

Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken, I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
    Beautiful Savior, I'm Yours forever
    Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There's salvation in Your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There's salvation in Your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope

Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body   began to breathe
Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me

Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body   began to breathe
Out of the silence, the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
    Jesus, Yours is the victory

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There's salvation in Your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope

Hallelujah, praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah, death has lost its grip on me
    You have broken every chain
    There's salvation in Your name
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
    Jesus Christ, my living hope
Oh God, You are my living hope

    A Prayer for Lent

Gracious God, guide us in this season of prayer, fasting, and reflection.

As these days of Lent stretch out before me, draw me inward to a quiet, sacred space where I can meet You in the stillness, see the truth through Christ's eyes, and know the depth of Your boundless love.

Lead me through this season of anticipation with a heart open to Your presence.

May Your gentle mercy flow into the corners of my heart and fill me with renewed hope.

I ask this in Jesus' name.

    Amen

    The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world As it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right If I surrender to His Will; So that I may be reasonably happy in this life And supremely happy with Him Forever and ever in the next. Amen.

(prayer attributed to Reinhold Neibuhr, 1892-1971)

    Offertory Prayer
Faithful Father, thank you that you give the gift of abundant, eternal life. You have said that you are a Good Father who gives us good gifts. Your generosity overflows to us. Everything we have is a gift from you. As we bring our offerings to you, we give back to you from the abundant blessings you have given us. May our gifts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord our God. Blessing and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving, honor, and power and strength, be unto you our God forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

    THE LORDS PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

    THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

Offer Prayers of Intercessions, Petitions, or Thanksgivings to the Lord either silently or aloud. After each person shares we simply acknowledge by saying “Lord hear our prayer.”

    Prayer of Gratitude

Heavenly Father, We come before you today with hearts full of gratitude. Thank you for your countless blessings and your unwavering love. Thank you for the gift of life, for the air we breathe, and for the strength you give us each day. Your grace and mercy sustain us, and we  are deeply grateful for your presence in our lifes.

Thank you for our family, friends, and the community you have surrounded us with. Thank you for providing for our needs and for guiding us with your wisdom. Even in times of trial, we thank you for the lessons and the growth that come from trusting in you.

Lord, may we never take your blessings for granted. Help us to remain mindful of your goodness and to share your love and kindness with others. We praise your name and give thanks for all that you are and all that you do.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

    Daily Prayer

    Help me pay attention today.

I want to be so acutely aware of Your presence in every space.

Help me notice beauty that doesn't beg for applause, conversations that carry Your kindness, and the still, small ways You're working beneath the surface.

Let my feet be rooted, not rushed.

Let my heart be soft, not guarded.

And let my soul remember that You waste nothing—not even times of slowing down.

Title: “What Shall We Do?”

Sermon by Nate Wells

Acts 2:36–47 (NIV)

“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Scripture says they were cut to the heart. And they ask the most important spiritual question a person can ask:

“What shall we do?”

1. CUT TO THE HEART

“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” (Acts 2:36)

NT Wright; “Resurrection matters because what you ultimately hope for affects the person you are right now. More particularly, it matters because people who really believe in resurrection have a different approach to all of life…”

Conviction feels uncomfortable

Spiritual disciplines that help us hear God clearly:

Daily Scripture meditation
Reading slowly allows truth to reach deeper than information.

Silent reflection
Five minutes of quiet reveals how noisy our inner world really is.

Prayer of examen
At day’s end, ask:
“Where did I sense God today?”
“Where did I resist Him?”

Confession
Naming sin removes its hidden power.

2. The Gospel Changes the Direction of Life

“Repent and be baptized… for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)

Dallas Willard describes repentance as rethinking our entire life in light of God’s kingdom. It is realizing that we have been trusting the wrong things for meaning, security, and identity

Repentance is reaching for the rescue instead of trying to swim alone.

“for you and your children and for all who are far off…”

Spiritual disciplines that help us live repentance:

Daily surrender prayer
“Lord, I give you my plans, reactions, and decisions today.”

Fasting
Creates space to depend on God instead of comfort.

Journaling
Helps identify patterns in thinking and behavior.

Accountability relationships
Growth accelerates when someone else walks with us.

3. The Gospel Creates a Beautiful Community

Acts says the believers devoted themselves to four things:

the apostles’ teaching,

fellowship,

breaking of bread,

and prayer.

These four practices became the DNA of the early church.

John Ortberg writes that “Spiritual maturity is measured by growth in our ability to love.”

“They enjoyed the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

Spiritual disciplines that cultivate Christ-centered community:

Weekly shared meals
Eating together builds belonging.

Praying with others
Faith strengthens when spoken aloud.

Generosity
Giving loosens the grip of materialism.

Regular gathering
Consistency forms spiritual roots.

Lasting Change Haiti

The option to give toward the ministry we partner with in Haiti is always available…

God is at work in Haiti, and we’re grateful to share just a few of the wonderful things God allowed our team to accomplish this past week through your support and generosity.

  • New roof for a church in need in Fond Lantanier

  • Bibles for Pastor Wilson’s Church

Thanks to the funds you sent, the outreach was a huge blessing. We were able to purchase gas, water, and supplies—and most meaningfully, we bought Bibles. With support from LCH and the local church, they are now walking in new obedience and joy.
